April Meeting - Alpha and Omega Mounted Patrol

Last week the girls earned their Respect Authority petal by learning about The Woodlands Mounted Patrol. We see these beautiful horses often around The Woodlands and I think it was great that the girls were able to learn how important they are. Afterward we did a little craft called a SWAP which Girl Scouts trade with each other at various events. We will trade these next month with another Daisy troop to earn our Be A Sister to Every Girl Scout petal.

Night at the Museum!

Some girls from our troop participated in a very fun experience a couple of weekends ago! We got to spend a night at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. The girls had a great time. They had dinner, did crafts, watched a movie in the planetarium and slept in the Hall of the Americas. Definitely a night to remember!

Earth Day Green Up!

I think the girls had a great time cleaning up the park for The Woodlands Earth Day Green Up. It's too bad they weren't so enthusiastic for cleaning up their rooms! Thanks to everyone who participated. We'll definitely make this a yearly thing!

Happy 100th Birthday Girl Scouts!

Thank you to everyone who came out and celebration the 100th birthday of Girl Scouts on Sunday!  The girls had a great time and it was a beautiful day to be outside.  Personally I think our poster was THE BEST but I might be a little biased.  The girls made quite a few "take homes" including two SWAPs (special watcha-ma-callits affectionately pinned somewhere).  They also had a bed roll race, learned how to made dog leashes for the animal shelter, did a cookie walk and lots of other fun activities.  At the end many of the girls enjoyed a little fishing!






I hope you all have a wonderful March!  We don't meet again until March 31st when we participate in The Woodlands Earth Day Green Up!

February Meeting

Well, although our meeting didn't go as planned, we still were very productive! Thank you everyone for being flexible and patient on Wednesday. We could have easily just cancelled but so glad we didn't! Our Woodlands Mounted Patrol meeting is rescheduled for April 18th.

It was nice to sit and have a home meeting where we said the pledge and the girls were reminded of the Girl Scout Promise. We also learned about the History of Girl Scout Cookies for a 100 Year patch requirement. We played a fun quiz-like game and hopefully took something a tad boring and made it interesting! We also learned about water conservation and what we can do in our very own homes to conserve water. We watched a youtube video that a Brownie troop had made on the subject. The girls each took a tip and illustrated it. I will make copies of all the tips for each girl and make it into a book to keep at home and share with family. Lastly we put our 100 Year Patch troop poster together! I think it turned out FANTASTIC!


March is a busy month for us with 2 get togethers. The first on March 4th will be our Service Unit's big 100 year Celebration at Creekwood Park from 2-4. We will be attending this as a troop! March 31st we will be participating in The Woodlands Earth Day Green Up, collecting trash. More info to come on this.

January Meeting 2012

What an incredible meeting we had in January! Some of us walked from Coulson Tough over the YMCA where we met up with the rest of our group. We were lucky enough to get a nice conference room! Very official! Ms. Kim taught us all about how to eat to keep our bodies healthy. This finished up our "Respect Ourselves and Others" petal.


Then it was off to climb the rock wall!!!! Let me tell you, these are some very Couragous and Strong little girls! They all climbed! So brave :)




Some girls even had the time and guts to climb "the big wall!"


SO proud of these Daisies!!! Our next meeting will be February 15 at Town Green Park. We will be meeting with The Woodlands Mounted Patrol earning our Respect Authority petal! Two other daisies troops will be joining us too! Should be really fun. More details to come!

Happy Holidays Daisies!

We had a wonderful time at our holiday party hosted by Miss Liz and Clare. We were sad that a few of our Daisy friends were missing though. Can't wait to see their smiling faces soon! For our Caring and Compassionate patch the girls brought Christmas cards for soldiers. We also made some handmade ones at the meeting. We talked about how far away from family the soldiers are how knowing strangers care about them and receiving fun Christmas cards would make them feel. Miss Liz and Miss Alexia had some fun crafts for us to do as well and one we could eat! We also had a book exchange and worked on learning our Rights and Lefts with a fun story for passing around the books. I think we were all tired by the end! We hope all our Daisies and their families have a wonderful holiday!!! We'll see you in 2012!
