November Meeting Wrap Up

Sorry this post is so late! At our November meeting we added another animal to our mural...the lion. Thanks for bringing in all the lion pictures! We also made our red robins and about me nests. I will remind everyone but they will need to bring the nests filled with pictures of things they do to take care of themselves to share in January. We also had a FABULOUS guest speaker, Mrs. Reid. Mrs. Reid is actually a first grade teacher at Coulson Tough so I know the kids got a kick out of that. She is also an avid volunteer at the Montgomery County Animal Shelter and is very knowledgable about working with and taking care of animals. She taught the girls how to be safe around animals and what to do if an animal approaches them. Finally we managed to squeeze in a fun craft...corn husk dolls. Thanks to everyone that was able to help that day. I might have bit off more than I could chew! Ha!

Next month is our Holiday Party at Liz and Clare Davis's house on December 20th! See you there!

October Meeting Recap!

Our October meeting was great as we welcomed a few new friends to our troop. We now are full at 12 great girls.

To start off the meeting we celebrated Juliette Gordon Low's (the founder of Girl Scouts) birthday will cupcakes, birthday decorations and talked about a few interesting facts about Juliette Gordon Low.



As always we said the pledge, reviewed the Girl Scout Promise, Law, and the behavior expectations of our troop. We sang "Make New Friends." Next we were introduced to our Journey books! To start our Journey we colored the first animal for our mural, decorated our Bird Bath, and began coming up with ideas about how we take care of animals.


Note to self...teach Daisies better oral hygiene!!!! :P


Our next meeting is November 15...location TBD! We also have a fun field trip planned to The Woodlands Stables to learn how to take care of horses on November 25th from 12-2. Details to come!

Welcome Back Daisies! September 2012

We had a great first meeting! So glad to see all these smiling faces together again. I am so excited for all the wonderful experiences we are going to have together this year!

At this meeting we did the following:
- A fun activity on honesty
- Earned our Money Counts leaf by learning the value of money
- Chose our Journey for the year! 3 Cheers for Animals!
- Made Pinwheels for Peace
- Discussed the importance of our Fall Product fundraiser

I forgot to take many pictures, but here are some of our beautiful Daisies with their pinwheels!


Our next meeting will be October 25th!

Learning Manners at Sweet and Sassy and SWAPS

In May the girls attended a fun Manners class at Sweet and Sassy. They got their hair done as well as their nails too! At they end they received a patch for their "hard work" ha! After the class we met with another Daisy troop and exchanged SWAPS to earn our Be a Sister To Every Girl Scout petal.

Special Girl Scout Build a Bear Party

We had a great time at the special 100 Year Girl Scout Build a Bear party. Thank you Ms. Liz for organizing it!

April Meeting - Alpha and Omega Mounted Patrol

Last week the girls earned their Respect Authority petal by learning about The Woodlands Mounted Patrol. We see these beautiful horses often around The Woodlands and I think it was great that the girls were able to learn how important they are. Afterward we did a little craft called a SWAP which Girl Scouts trade with each other at various events. We will trade these next month with another Daisy troop to earn our Be A Sister to Every Girl Scout petal.

Night at the Museum!

Some girls from our troop participated in a very fun experience a couple of weekends ago! We got to spend a night at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. The girls had a great time. They had dinner, did crafts, watched a movie in the planetarium and slept in the Hall of the Americas. Definitely a night to remember!
